DUNDEE RAPPER MADE THREATS AGAINST SCHOOLBOY IN MUSIC TRACK
Christopher Sharp, AKA Sherps, admitted a 12-week campaign of domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend at locations in Perth and Dundee. He sent menacing voicemails, including violent threats and threats to harm her family members, and made threats in a rap song targeting a pre-teen family member, encouraging others to cause harm.
Sharp appeared in court, admitting to engaging in abusive behaviour at a location in Perth and at Dundee’s Apex Hotel between March 1 and May 28 last year.
The charge was aggravated by prejudice, as he repeatedly called the woman a racist term.
The court heard about an incident where Sharp, in a fit of rage, grabbed a knife and cut into her shoes.
He also sent threatening voice notes, urging her and a school-aged family member to 'watch their backs' and making threats to 'tear down what she had built,' which she believed threatened her business.
Sharp was arrested after her passing on voice recordings to police.
The court deferred sentencing for background reports and a risk assessment.
Sheriff William Wood described the case as 'all very unedifying', and Sharp was released on bail.
In previous incidents, Sharp narrowly avoided jail after being found guilty of dealing cannabis and threatening violence in 2021, and was fined last year for drug-driving after breaking a court ban.
