SWINDON MAN JAILED FOR MAKING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A man has been jailed for making indecent images of children and keeping them on his mobile phone.
Christopher Ritchie, 41, of Whitley Road, Aldbourne, pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of children during an earlier hearing at Swindon Magistrates Court on October 2.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court for sentencing on Thursday, October 30.
The court heard from prosecutor Ms Cole that the 41-year-old was found to have the indecent images stored on a Motorola E13 mobile phone in Swindon.
Between January 4, 2024, and March 27, 2024, he made five Category C images, two Category B images, and five still and two moving Category A images—the most serious.
The bench jailed Ritchie for 12 months and he will be placed on the sex offender's register for 10 years.
A 10-year sexual harm prevention order was also imposed.
The 41-year-old was ordered to pay a surcharge of £187 and prosecution costs of £85.
