MAN JAILED FOR CONTROLLING EX-PARTNER FOR FOUR YEARS
A man who spent four years controlling his former partner has been jailed.Nottinghamshire Police reported that Christopher Rice threatened to leave his ex-girlfriend if she did not follow his commands.
The 33-year-old, residing in Church View Gardens in Annesley Woodhouse, pleaded guilty to engaging in controlling or coercive behavior.
He was sentenced to two years and three months in prison at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday.
Upon release, Rice will also be subject to a restraining order.
PC Gill Mee from Nottinghamshire Police commended the bravery of Rice's former partner for reporting his behavior, emphasizing how difficult it is to deal with abusive and violent relationships that often lead to social isolation and damage to self-esteem.
