NEWTON MEARNS MAN JAILED FOR BRUTAL RAPE AND SKULL FRACTURE

A SEXUAL offender and aggressor, Christopher McDonald, was sentenced to seven years in prison for a series of violent and abusive acts.

The court heard he was physically and sexually violent towards a woman, including a rape and a severe assault resulting in a fractured skull.

McDonald, aged 45, repeatedly tormented his victim, causing her psychological trauma.

The most serious incident involved him trapping her in her home, pinning her down, and raping her without her consent.

Later that day, he flew into a rage when he found out she was seeing someone else, attacking her again and causing the skull fracture.

The conviction covered three charges: engaging in a course of abusive behavior that included non-consensual sex and assault, and two counts of threatening behavior.

The judge sentenced McDonald to seven years in prison, also ordering him to be placed on the sex offenders register and banning him from contacting the victim indefinitely.

McDonald denied the accusations during trial, but the jury found him guilty.

The court emphasized that his actions caused significant and enduring harm to the victim.
