POLICE OFFICER CAUGHT IN SEX PROPOSITION SCANDAL FACES DISCIPLINARY HEARING
A former North Yorkshire police officer named Christopher Hudson is set to face a misconduct hearing over serious allegations involving sexual misconduct with a colleague.The allegations include that he propositioned a female police constable (referred to as PC A) for sex during February 2021.
The misconduct charge is ‘discreditable conduct’ and relates to incidents between 3 and 9 February 2021.
It is reported that on 3 February 2021, Hudson was in a police van with PC A and suggested that they should have sex in the van itself.
The following day, he drove a police van to Stonefall Cemetery in Harrogate, reputed for 'dogging', and propositioned PC A for sex, saying that no one would find out.
He then is alleged to have kissed her, put her hand on his groin, and himself placed his hand on her groin, despite her clear refusal.
Hudson persisted after she expressed her unwillingness, and made comments to the effect that since they had already kissed, they might as well have sex, claiming the repercussions would be the same if they were caught.
He then drove to a remote pub, the Traveller’s Rest, where he again made inappropriate remarks.
Despite these allegations, Mr Hudson was acquitted of sexual assault in February 2023 at Leeds Crown Court.
Last year, he was dismissed from the police force after a misconduct hearing concluded that he lied about being arrested and made false declarations during vetting.
Specifically, he failed to disclose prior arrests in 2006 for criminal damage and arson, and also did not disclose his friendship with a man serving a six-year sentence for robbery, despite visiting him in prison seven times.
The misconduct panel, led by then Chief Constable Lisa Winward, determined that his dishonesty amounted to gross misconduct, leading to his dismissal without notice.
The upcoming hearing scheduled for 12 July at North Yorkshire Police HQ will assess whether his conduct towards PC A constitutes gross misconduct warranting dismissal, considering the severity of his behavior.
