Christopher Hall, 56, from Widgeon Close in Poynton, pleaded guilty to multiple offences related to child sexual exploitation images.

His crimes included the possession of indecent images and videos of children, creating such images, possessing extreme pornographic content, holding prohibited images of a child, and sharing indecent images of minors.

On Tuesday, 5 March, Hall appeared at Chester Crown Court where he was sentenced to 16 months in prison.

The police investigation began on 13 December 2022, after authorities raided his home and recovered several electronic devices, following intelligence provided to Cheshire Police.

Hall was at his residence at the time of the search and was detained on suspicion of possessing, producing, and distributing indecent images of children.

During police interviews, he admitted to owning the images stored on his devices.

He was subsequently charged with numerous offences, including possession of indecent images and videos of minors; specifically, he was charged with producing 152 Category A images and 147 Category A videos, as well as 164 Category B images and 39 videos, along with 246 Category C images and five videos.

Additional charges included possession of 48 extreme pornographic images, one prohibited child image, and distribution of five indecent images.

Beyond his prison sentence, Hall must adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for ten years and is required to register as a sex offender for the same duration.
