CONVICTED PAEDOPHILE GIVEN 20-YEAR SENTENCE FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING TEENAGE BOYS
Update from 13/12/2024: The convicted paedophile who sexually abused three boys at his home has been jailed for 20 years.
Christopher Coleman, 63, invited the victims to his flat in Milford, near Guildford, offering them alcohol and cannabis, before assaulting them, sometimes while they were asleep.
Coleman groomed the victims - buying them tickets to music festivals as a way of persuading them to let him sexually assault them and would ask them for sexual favours for letting them stay in his flat.
The offences took place between 1999 and 2006 when the victims were aged between 12 and 16.
Before the attacks started, the victims described going to his flat as a “refuge” and regarded Coleman as a “cool parent”.
A man identified as Christopher Coleman, 59, of Milford, was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to historic sexual abuse involving a 14-year-old boy.
The case was heard at Guildford Crown Court on April 8, where Coleman admitted to six charges against the same victim.
These charges included three counts of gross indecency, two counts of indecent assault, and one count of buggery.
The victim came forward in February 2019 after reading about Coleman's previous convictions for similar offences in a newspaper article.
In 2013, Coleman was convicted and given two life sentences, with a minimum term of 15 years, which was later reduced to 12 years on appeal.
Following the initial reports, the victim contacted Surrey Police to express gratitude for their efforts in securing Coleman's imprisonment, during which he also disclosed that he had been abused by Coleman.
An investigation was immediately launched, leading to Coleman's arrest in June 2019 on suspicion of multiple sexual offences.
