A police officer in County Durham, Christopher Burns, aged 52, who was found to have searched for indecent images of children on his official work laptop, has been given a sentence. Burns had accessed images classified as low-level indecent material, along with borderline content involving girls aged between 7 and 14. He explained that his searches were intended for work-related research; however, he admitted to creating indecent images. As part of his sentence, he received a community order and supervision, and he was also told to register as a sex offender for a period of five years.
