MAN JAILED FOR NON-RECENT SEX OFFENCES AGAINST A CHILD
A man has received an eight-year prison sentence after being convicted of historic sexual offenses involving a minor.
Christopher Brooks, aged 74 and residing in Bishopsworth, Bristol, was handed down his sentence at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday, 18 September.
The jury found Brooks guilty of multiple charges, including two counts of indecent assault on a child, two counts of encouraging a child to engage in sexual acts of gross indecency, three counts of creating indecent images of a child, and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
These convictions were delivered at the same court on 17 June.
In addition to his prison term, Brooks will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten years.
His victim demonstrated significant bravery by providing evidence during an investigation that spanned four years, which was described as complex.
