MAN, 40, IN COURT CHARGED WITH OFFENCES RELATING TO CHILD SEX ABUSE IMAGES
A 40-year-old man has appeared in court charged with a number of sexual offences relating to images of child sex abuse.Christopher Anderson, of no fixed abode but formerly of Lawrence Square in Lurgan, was extradited from the Netherlands to Northern Ireland to face trial on multiple charges concerning child sex abuse images.
The court heard that the total number of images related to 1,300.
His legal representatives expressed his eagerness to proceed with the case swiftly.
The first case includes 27 offences involving possession, making, and distributing indecent images of children.
The second case involves 108 offences also relating to indecent images and inciting sexual acts with a child.
These alleged offences took place in Lurgan in 2014.
The defendant had skipped Crown Court bail in late 2020 and has been wanted for arrest since, according to police.
No bail was granted, and the case is scheduled to be heard again at Craigavon Crown Court on September 8.
