In February 2019, Christian Mosquera-Ortiz, 26, of Lilford Road, SE5, appeared at Inner London Crown Court where he received a suspended sentence for child sex offences.On Friday, 15 February, Mosquera-Ortiz was sentenced to nine months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, after being convicted of two counts of sexual activity with a child, contrary to section 9(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
As part of his sentence, he is required to complete a 29-day Horizon programme designed for men over 18 who are assessed as medium risk and have previous convictions for sexual offences. Additionally, he must undertake a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) for up to 60 days and adhere to a notification requirement for ten years.
Mosquera-Ortiz is further prohibited from working with children or adults with special needs and has been placed under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). A restraining order was also issued against him, and he was ordered to pay costs.
The charges stem from a police report received on 19 October 2018, in which a third party alleged that Mosquera-Ortiz had engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.
Following an investigation by detectives from the Central South Criminal Investigations Department, covering Lambeth and Southwark, the victim was identified, and police officers provided her with support.
The offences occurred between September 2017 and October 2018.

- Sexual activity with a child, contrary to section 9(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003;
- Intentionally causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, contrary to section 10(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003;
- Meeting a child following sexual grooming, contrary to section 15(1) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
At a court hearing on 18 January, Mosquera-Ortiz pleaded guilty to two counts. The Crown Prosecution Service accepted his plea, and the remaining counts will lie on file.
He has also been subjected to a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits him from:
1) Having any unsupervised contact with children under 16 unless it is incidental or with parental or guardian consent who is aware of the convictions;
2) Using a computer or mobile phone capable of internet access that does not retain browsing history;
3) Deleting such browsing history or using devices or programs to do so.
Furthermore, Mosquera-Ortiz is required to allow police officers to inspect any electronic devices or equipment.
