OFFENDER CHRISTIAN HORSFIELD JAILED FOR BREACH OF RESTRAINING ORDER
A woman was so frightened when her ex-husband contacted her at work that she moved to a different county.
In 2014, Christian Horsfield was convicted of assaulting the victim.
Following this, an indefinite restraining order was issued in April 2015, which prohibited him from approaching or communicating with her at her home in Upper Denby.
Despite this, on January 23, Horsfield left a message for her at her workplace about collecting their children from school.
The victim described her reaction as being in 'shock, scared and crying' and feeling upset because it was the first contact from him in some time, leading her to believe he had moved on.
Since then, she has suffered from 'extreme anxiety and is very scared to go out,' struggling to sleep and feeling like a prisoner in her own home.
She eventually quit her job and relocated to South Yorkshire.
Horsfield, residing in Upperthong, pleaded guilty to breaching the restraining order.
The court sentenced him to a 12-month community order with up to 20 rehabilitation activity days and imposed a new restraining order forbidding any contact or presence at her residence.
