Dumbarton Domestic Abuser
A disturbing incident of domestic violence unfolded in Dumbarton involving 35-year-old Cheyenne Hillier. According to court records, Hillier returned to his residence on Lennox Road around 8:30 pm on April 18, visibly intoxicated. What began as a heated argument quickly escalated into a violent assault against his fiancée.

During the confrontation, Hillier directed a barrage of abusive language at his partner, calling her a "f***ing mongrel" and accusing her of insincerity. The situation intensified as Hillier physically restrained the woman, forcing her onto a bed. Witnesses report that he grabbed her hair and placed his hand around her neck, actions that caused her significant distress and physical harm. In addition to these aggressive acts, Hillier struck her across the face, resulting in minor injuries.

The woman attempted to defend herself and make her escape from the volatile situation. However, Hillier pursued her, pinning her against walls and a radiator within the home. He also threw objects across the room, further endangering her safety. The assault left her with a small cut near her eye, a red mark on her hairline, and pain in her jaw, lower back, and leg. Emergency services were called to the scene, leading to Hillier’s immediate arrest.

During the court proceedings, Hillier’s defense team argued that despite the violent incident, the woman expressed her desire to maintain a relationship with him, which she confirmed through a letter. The court responded by issuing an order prohibiting Hillier from returning to their shared residence on Lennox Road. Additionally, strict bail conditions were imposed to prevent further contact.

The sheriff overseeing the case remarked that Hillier was "very lucky" that his fiancée chose to stand by him despite the assault. As a result, sentencing was deferred for six months, contingent upon Hillier’s good behavior during this period. The case highlights the ongoing issues of domestic violence and the importance of legal measures to protect victims in Dumbarton.
