ABERDEEN MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT AND CHILD ABUSE
A 32-year-old Aberdeen man, Chaquwann Stubbs, was arrested following a domestic disturbance near U.S.Highway 1 and John McQueen Road.
According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers responded to the scene on November 14 and found Stubbs along with an adult female and a juvenile.
Investigations revealed that Stubbs had allegedly assaulted both the female and the child.
Stubbs faces multiple charges including felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor domestic violence, assault on a child under 12, misdemeanor child abuse, and injury to personal property.
Additionally, authorities discovered that Stubbs had an outstanding warrant for previously communicating threats.
During the arrest process, police found marijuana in Stubbs’s possession, leading to an additional charge of possession of marijuana.
Stubbs was brought before a Moore County magistrate and is currently held without bond, pending a hearing before a judicial official.
All suspects and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
