CARL BALFOUR FROM CORNHILL-ON-TWEED SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THE BORDERS
In June 2021, Carl Balfour, aged 37 and residing in Cornhill-on-Tweed, Northumberland, was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a young child in the Borders region.Balfour was found guilty of sexually assaulting a child under 13 years of age in Berwickshire more than three years prior to his sentencing. The case was heard at the High Court in Edinburgh.
He received a custodial term of three years, with an extended period of two years, which was back-dated to April 16.
