MAN JAILED AND PLACED ON SEX OFFENDERS REGISTER AFTER INCIDENT WITH EIGHT-YEAR-OLDS IN SCHOOL TOILET
A PAEDOPHILE charged with child abuse while working as a contractor at a school in Crowthorne has been sentenced to two years in prison.Calum O’Reilly-Timms, 25, of North Street, Martock, Somerset, was unanimously found guilty of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, attempting to sexually assault a child under 13, and causing or encouraging a child under 13 to participate in sexual acts.
The conviction and sentencing took place at Reading Crown Court on September 30, 2022.
Prior to the trial, he admitted to three counts of producing indecent images of children.
He is now registered as a sex offender for ten years, is subject to a sexual harm prevention order valid for a decade, and is prohibited from working with children.
The incident occurred on August 5 last year, when O’Reilly-Timms was working as a contractor at Edgbarrow School during a summer camp.
He followed two eight-year-old boys into the school toilets and asked one of them inappropriate questions, also attempting to touch him illicitly.
After the first boy left, the second boy entered and was also asked inappropriate questions by O’Reilly-Timms.
Both children reported the incidents to their parents, prompting a police investigation, which led to his arrest the following day.
During questioning, authorities found devices belonging to O’Reilly-Timms containing indecent images of children.
He was formally charged on February 21.
Detective Constable Robert Chevalier of Bracknell and Wokingham CID commented on the case, emphasising that the incidents were shocking and carried out by a predatory individual.
He praised the victims for their detailed accounts, which helped police swiftly identify and arrest the suspect.
The detective also expressed gratitude to the victims and their families and underscored Thames Valley Police’s commitment to thorough investigation and victim safeguarding.
