NORWICH ESCAPE ROOM WORKER HAD CHILD SEXUAL IMAGES
A Norwich escape room employee has been banned from working with children after admitting having prohibited images.Callum Squires pleaded guilty to possession of 37 images, some deemed to be category A, the most serious, between January 25 and 29 last year.
Appearing at Norwich Magistrates' Court to be sentenced, the 22-year-old, from Hevingham, was told the offence was so serious that it passed the custody threshold despite his previous good character.
But magistrates suspended an eight month jail sentence for two years with requirements that he complete 15 rehabilitation days and 300 hours unpaid work.
He was also made subject of a five year sexual harm prevention order preventing any contact or communication with children without the prior knowledge and written consent of their parent or guardian.
The court had heard an appeal for the order to be amended to enable him to continue to work at an escape room business.
But he was told: "We are not amending it just so you can work with children.
Child protection has got to be the priority."
