In July 2014, Callum Kerr Aitchison, 22, of Mill Lane, Lerwick, admitted to having engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl at two different addresses in Lerwick between December 2012 and February 2013. Following his guilty plea, Aitchison was registered on the sex offenders register.
Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie highlighted the concern that Aitchison had completed two days of advanced child protection training prior to his employment involving work with children.
Sheriff Philip Mann granted Aitchison bail and postponed sentencing until 21 August to allow for the preparation of background reports.
