Kilbirnie Sexual Abuser
In a recent court ruling, Bryan Clark, a 54-year-old resident of Kilbirnie, has been convicted of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13. The incident took place at an address in Kilbirnie between August 1, 2016, and December 31, 2016, inclusive. During this period, Clark engaged in inappropriate and criminal behavior towards the young girl, which included handling her body and removing her underwear while she was asleep, actions that constitute serious sexual offenses.

Clark faced charges under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009. Despite maintaining his innocence and pleading not guilty to one of the charges, the court found him guilty after a trial held last week at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court. The verdict underscores the gravity of the offense and the court's recognition of the evidence presented.

Following the conviction, the court decided to defer sentencing until July. This delay allows for the preparation of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report, a Restriction of Liberty Assessment, and a comprehensive Risk Assessment, all of which are crucial for determining an appropriate sentence and ensuring public safety. Bryan Clark has been granted bail and is scheduled to return to court in July for sentencing proceedings, where the full extent of his punishment will be determined.
