A Perthshire man was involved in sending sexually explicit messages to what he believed was a 13-year-old girl through social media platforms.

Bruce Ross, aged 42 and residing at Rosebank Cottage in Inchture, thought he was talking to a girl named Jaz who was a teenager, but he was actually contacting a decoy account operated by undercover police.

He appeared in Perth Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to attempts to communicate indecently with a child on April 26, 2023.

Following his admission, Ross was subjected to a period of supervision and was placed on the sex offenders register for a year.
