BRIAN FOX FROM RUISLIP SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENCY OFFENSES IN HEATHFIELD RISE

In June 2000, Brian Fox, a 62-year-old man residing in Ruislip, was sentenced to four months in prison after pleading guilty to five charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images involving minors under the age of 16.

Fox, a grandfather who had been divorced twice and was the father of four adult children, became the focus of a criminal investigation following a disturbing incident involving an eight-year-old girl. The child's mother became alarmed when her daughter returned home from Fox's residence in Heathfield Rise, Ruislip, wearing makeup. Concerned about her daughter's unusual behavior and appearance, she contacted the police to report her suspicions.

Authorities responded swiftly, and a search was conducted at Fox's home. During the search, officers from the Northwood Child Protection Team uncovered a disturbing collection of items. These included various pieces of female underwear, lingerie, a G-string, dresses, several pairs of women's shoes, and a white rubber mask reminiscent of Halloween costumes. Additionally, police seized cameras and developed film that revealed troubling images.

The photographs included images of the eight-year-old girl dressed in adult clothing, wearing makeup, and in high-heeled shoes, as well as pictures of Fox himself in his underwear. The police investigation revealed that Fox had taken these photographs, and he admitted to being the person behind the camera.

Further examination of the seized material showed explicit photographs of a girl approximately ten years old, which contributed to the severity of the case. The charges stemmed from these images, which depicted the young girl in a sexualized manner, raising serious concerns about her welfare and safety.

Prosecutor Karl Scholz presented the case at Isleworth Crown Court, emphasizing the disturbing nature of the evidence. He explained that Fox had established a relationship with the girl’s family through a mutual acquaintance and had begun taking her out in social settings. Over time, this relationship appeared to have become inappropriate, leading to the criminal activities.

During the court proceedings, Fox admitted to taking the photographs, acknowledging his role as the photographer. The judge, Andrew McDowall, expressed his grave concern over the case, stating, “The court is always concerned to protect children, and it seems quite plain that you have abused children. It seems to me a prison sentence there must be.”

As part of his sentence, Fox was ordered to register as a sex offender under the Sex Offenders’ Act for a period of seven years, reflecting the seriousness of his crimes and the need for ongoing monitoring to prevent further offenses.
