DAD, 24, GRABBED 'FISTFUL' OF GIRLFRIEND'S HAIR AND KICKED HER AS SHE CURLED UP IN FEAR
A cruel thug who 'grabbed a fistful' of his girlfriend's hair before kicking her as she curled up on the floor in fear has been locked up.Dad-of-two Benjamin Foster cruelly lashed out at his partner while their children were in bed in their home.
The court heard how Foster and his victim were in a relationship which had ended by August 2022.
The couple had started arguing in the early morning in Wolverhampton when Foster slapped the woman's face and then walked into the hallway.
She followed, demanding to know why he had lashed out as it was 'the first time he had done anything like that'.
Foster then swung a dog harness toward her, hitting her to the right side of her face and causing her nose to bleed.
She ran towards the door but Foster pulled her to the floor and punched her multiple times.
She suffered a black eye, bruising, and grazing.
Foster also grabbed her, pulled her to the floor, and punched her thigh.
She feared for her safety and felt unable to confide in anyone at the time.
On another occasion, Foster started arguing with his partner after 7pm when their children were in bed.
He 'grabbed a fistful' of her hair, forced her head into a door, and threw her onto the floor.
She begged him to stop, but he kicked her stomach and face and spat in her face.
She then sat on the stairs to protect herself, but Foster pushed her down the stairs, restricting her breathing and making her dizzy.
She mentioned their children, and Foster loosened his grip before leaving.
He also pushed another woman during the incident.
Foster, who had no previous convictions, was subject to a non-molestation order due to expire in September 2025.
While on bail for earlier offenses, he called the victim on a withheld number, saying, 'hello can we talk', and when she did not reply, said, 'I take that as a no'.
The court heard that Foster's ex-partner now feels on edge most days, avoiding Wolverhampton city center, and coping with flashbacks and deteriorated mental health, with support from loved ones and a domestic abuse charity.
Prosecutor Christopher O'Gorman stated that their relationship started well but worsened over time, with Foster's violent episodes including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating, criminal damage, and breach of a non-molestation order between November 2021 and January 2024.
Foster admitted to these charges.
He was sentenced to 30 months in prison on September 11, 2025, by Wolverhampton Crown Court.
