A man who subjected three young children to "sickening abuse" has been jailed.

Benjamin Briggs, 40, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to five counts of sexual assault on a child and three counts of voyeurism.

He was jailed for 10 years at Hull Crown Court on Friday.

Briggs was also handed an indefinite restraining order and placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Humberside Police began investigating Briggs following a report of voyeurism in Hull in June 2025.

During the investigation, officers received further reports of historical child sex offences, as well as another separate incident of voyeurism, with Briggs named as the perpetrator.

An investigation from 2018, in which a victim reported child sex offences, was also reopened in light of the investigation, officers said.

Briggs, who was subsequently arrested and interviewed about the allegations in October initially claimed he had no recollection, or any sexual interest in children, police said.

Det Con Adam Shaw, who led the investigation, praised all three survivors for reporting Brigg's offending.

He said: "It is thanks to their resilience that we were able to stack up a significant amount of evidence against Briggs, ultimately leading him to decide to plead guilty and bringing him to justice." "Briggs is a sadistic and paedophilic man who subjected three innocent children to what can only be described as repeated, sickening abuse to fulfil his sexual desires," he added.
