WHITSTABLE STALKING VICTIM TELLS HOW EX-BOYFRIEND THREATENED TO BURN DOWN HER HOUSE AND FAKED OWN SUICIDE
Ben Terrell, 39, of Cade Road, Ashford, stalked his ex-partner Lindy Muirhead for eight months.
During this period, he sent abusive texts, voicemails, and emails, threatened to burn her house with her inside, and even faked his own suicide to manipulate her feelings of guilt.
He eventually pleaded guilty to stalking her between August 2023 and April 2024.
During the sentencing at Canterbury Crown Court, Judge Janet Bignell KC described his actions as dreadful and unwarranted.
Terrell was handed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to complete 40 rehabilitation sessions and pay £200 in compensation.
Despite this, Ms Muirhead expressed her belief that justice was not fully served due to overcrowding in prisons.
