BARRY SIMPSON FROM LHANBRYDE CAUGHT WITH BESTIALITY VIDEOS IN MORAY
In March 2019, authorities in Moray took significant action against Barry Simpson, a resident of Lhanbryde, after uncovering disturbing evidence of extreme pornography involving animals.The investigation was initiated when reports surfaced that an indecent Category A video was being uploaded from Simpson’s address, prompting police to seek a search warrant for his property at Innes Court, Lhanbryde.
On June 4, law enforcement officers executed the warrant, which led to the seizure of multiple electronic devices, including a hard drive, from Simpson’s residence.
The devices contained numerous videos depicting bestiality, a form of extreme pornography that involves sexual acts with animals.
The discovery was a significant development in the case, highlighting the severity of the content found on Simpson’s property.
During police interviews, Barry Simpson, aged 47, admitted to having videos stored on a computer located in his living room.
When shown the hard drive, he explained that he had purchased it through an online marketplace, eBay, but had not yet accessed its contents.
His admission confirmed the possession of illegal material, which included explicit videos of adults engaging in sexual activities with animals.
Following the investigation, Simpson pleaded guilty to charges related to possessing extreme pornographic images.
The court, presided over by Sheriff Gary Aitken, decided to defer sentencing for a period of one month.
This delay was granted to allow for the preparation of a social work report, which would inform the subsequent legal proceedings.
In the meantime, Simpson was placed on the sex offenders register, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the potential risk to the community.
