BARRY RADFORD FROM WHICKHAM SENTENCED TO NEARLY DOUBLE PRISON TIME IN NORTHUMBRIA
A convicted sex offender, Barry Radford, who initially received a 12-year prison sentence, has seen his time behind bars nearly doubled after new victims stepped forward, according to Northumbria Police.
Radford, 54, from Whickham, was originally jailed in 2019 for offenses committed against four teenage boys.
Following his conviction, two additional victims came forward, reporting abuse by Radford.
As a result, Radford admitted to 12 new offences, including four counts of rape.
He was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court to an additional 11 years in prison.
The new charges also encompassed six counts of sexual assault and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Charity Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Dodds praised the bravery of the victims, stating: "[Radford's] a dangerous and predatory offender who preyed upon teenage boys.
The victims have been so courageous.
It is due to their bravery that Radford has been held to account for his horrific actions and he will remain in prison for a significantly longer period of time."
