Muscroft Rapist
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community, Barry Hudson, a man from Muscroft, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after committing heinous acts of child abuse and sharing explicit material online. The 33-year-old, who was employed in the hospitality industry and previously worked as an events manager for a prominent hotel chain, was arrested following an extensive investigation into his online activities.

Hudson, who had been married for 16 years, earned a reputation for leading a seemingly respectable life. However, beneath this facade, he engaged in deeply disturbing behavior. He called himself 'The Devil' and openly boasted about his enjoyment of abusing infants, citing that they 'couldn’t talk' as a reason he preferred them. His online profile, under the alias 'Diablo-1987,' revealed his disturbing preferences, which included children aged from birth up to 15 years old.

His criminal activities came to light after a US deputy sheriff, working undercover to expose paedophiles, alerted the FBI about his online presence. This led to a coordinated effort by British detectives who raided his home in Prestwich, Manchester, a property valued at approximately £220,000. During the investigation, authorities uncovered that Hudson had been secretly communicating with minors as young as 12 years old from both the UK and the US over a period of four years. They exchanged explicit messages and images, further evidencing his ongoing predatory behavior.

One of the most disturbing revelations was that Hudson had filmed himself raping a baby. He then shared images of this horrific abuse across the internet via Kik messages within a paedophile group called “Share Bears (No Limits).” In these messages, he openly bragged about his abuse, stating that babies 'couldn’t talk' and revealing his sexual interests, which extended to children from 0 to 15 years old. He also mentioned being attracted to girls primarily but admitted to having been with older males as well, though he claimed he was not into pain-related activities and expressed a particular interest in panties.

The investigation further revealed that Hudson had downloaded approximately 5,000 indecent images of children over the past four years. His phone contained a vast collection of such material, highlighting the extent of his depravity. His wife, who has since left him, described the impact of his dark secret as devastating, stating that her life had been 'torn apart by his deception.'

Hudson’s arrest and subsequent court proceedings took place at Minshull Street Crown Court. The judge described him as an ongoing danger to the public and condemned his actions as a descent into 'the depths of depravity.' Hudson pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including rape, sexual assault, making and distributing indecent images, and attempting to engage in sexual communication with children.

As part of his sentence, Hudson will be on licence until 2044 under an extended sentence, and he is required to sign the Sex Offender Register for life. Additionally, he was ordered to abide by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was explicitly banned from contacting his estranged wife through a restraining order. The court’s verdict underscores the severity of his crimes and the ongoing threat he poses to society.
