MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR KILLING HIS WIFE
Baldeep Singh, who lives on Dovedale Road, admitted to murdering Amandeep Kaur, aged 35, during a hearing in July.He received a sentence of at least 19 years imprisonment before he could be considered for release.
The police were called on Friday, February 3, at around 2:50 pm by Singh, who stated that he had killed his wife because he thought she was going to leave him.
He also told the call handler that he had confided in his father about the murder, and his father had instructed him to contact the police.
Police officers responded to the scene and found Amandeep Kaur dead in her bedroom upstairs.
Singh was arrested at the location and subsequently charged with her murder.
An autopsy confirmed that her cause of death was a laceration to the neck.
