HULL TEEN JAILED FOR BRUTAL ATTACK ON PREGNANT PARTNER
A teenage individual named Bailey Tyson from Hull was convicted of assaulting his pregnant partner with a metal pole last year. The victim, who was pregnant, had to protect herself and her unborn child during the attack.
The court was told by prosecutor Stephen Littlewood that Tyson told the woman she should kill herself and her baby after running out of spice, a drug he had used.
Tyson, 19 years old, became increasingly abusive and aggressive, punching her, hitting her with a wardrobe pole three times in her arm, in the back, and kicking her in the side.
The woman managed to escape when she went to the toilet, reaching the bus station and messaging her mother for help.
She was left with bruising.
Tyson later called the woman to apologize, but the relationship ended.
It was also noted that Tyson has a history of eight previous convictions for 13 offences, including a suspended sentence for dangerous driving in 2019.
His breach of a previous sentence by carrying out this attack resulted in him being jailed for 18 months in a Young Offenders' Institute.
Judge Mark Bury commented on Tyson’s immaturity, age, and challenges faced in life, stating that his actions may have been partly due to his immaturity.
He is described as a young man who is idle and has struggled with depression and drug use, including cannabis and spice.
