ABERDEEN MAN FAILS TO APPEAR IN COURT ON SERIOUS SEXUAL ASSAULT AND THREATENING CHARGES
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man accused of multiple sexual and threatening offences in Aberdeen.Badre Sanbouli, aged 30, failed to appear for a pre-trial hearing at Aberdeen Sheriff Court after not maintaining contact with his solicitor for several months.
He faces three serious charges, including sexual assault with the intention to rape.
All accusations involve him physically pursuing different women around Aberdeen.
It is alleged that on Westburn Road, he sexually assaulted a woman by pushing her into a hedge, making inappropriate remarks, repeatedly kissing and licking her face, and attempting to remove her clothing.
The charge further claims that he chased her, grabbed and pulled her clothing, causing her to fall, repeatedly touched her, and placed her hand on his genitals, with the alleged intent of raping her.
This incident is said to have occurred on February 28, 2021.
Sanbouli is also accused of threatening or abusing another woman on July 28, 2021, with incidents reported in Trinity Street, Union Street, and Skene Street.
He allegedly followed her during nighttime, pursued her with a vehicle through various streets, repeatedly tried to engage her in conversation, and refused to stop when asked.
Additionally, he is accused of grabbing her, placing her hand on his body, attempting to touch her, coercing her to read messages on his phone, and demanding she enter his vehicle.
The third charge involves similar threatening behavior on September 18, 2021, on Langstane Place and Bon Accord Street.
He reportedly followed a woman in a vehicle, drove slowly beside her with the window down, and repeatedly tried to converse with her.
Despite denying the charges, Sanbouli did not appear at court, leading Sheriff Graham Buchanan to issue a warrant for his arrest.
His solicitor, Ross Taggart, also withdrew due to lack of contact from Sanbouli.
