2005: HUSBAND JAILED FOR BREAKING RESTRAINING ORDER AND BREAKING INTO WIFE'S HOME
A man defied a court order and forcefully entered his estranged wife’s residence in Redditch during the early morning hours.Using a stone, Nadeem smashed the kitchen window and was discovered sitting on a sofa inside the lounge.
He told his frightened wife, Saiqi Bibi Siddique, that he intended to stay there, according to prosecutor Peter Tooke at Worcester Crown Court.
Just days prior to this incident, Nadeem had been released on license from a two-month jail sentence for a similar offense.
Saiqi Bibi Siddique informed police that she felt he would continue to haunt her and was contemplating leaving her home on Mount Street.
In May 2004, magistrates had issued a two-year restraining order under the Protection from Harassment Act, prohibiting Nadeem from contacting or abusing his wife physically or verbally.
Nadeem, who is 24 and formerly resided on Bromsgrove Road, admitted to breaching the restraining order and was sentenced to two years in prison.
Judge David McEvoy QC remarked that Nadeem clearly had not accepted that his marriage was over or acknowledged his illegal actions.
The judge also expressed concern about the likelihood of future break-ins, stating, “There is a very substantial risk that you will break in again.
Until you change your mindset, you remain a danger to your wife.
My goal is to protect her.” The wife described feeling under constant threat, suffering from sleep difficulties, and constantly fearing encounters with his face.
Defense attorney Nisharn Sidhu-Brar explained that Nadeem had been living homeless since his release from prison and that he visited the house during a depressive state.
He had emigrated from Pakistan to marry and worked diligently for three years prior to separating from his wife.
Following his release, Nadeem planned to leave the United Kingdom.
