AYDEN THOMPSON FROM GREAT BRIDGE SENTENCED TO 21 YEARS FOR MULTIPLE RAPE OFFENSES IN WOLVERHAMPTON

In a case that has shocked the local community, Ayden Thompson, a man from Great Bridge, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 21 years after being found guilty of multiple heinous sexual offenses.

The crimes included the rape of a schoolgirl from Dudley, whom he had groomed through social media, as well as the assault of two adult women in the surrounding area.

The sentencing took place at Wolverhampton Crown Court, where Judge Nicholas Webb delivered a stern judgment, emphasizing that Thompson would not be eligible for early release until he is deemed to be no longer a threat to society.

The judge expressed concern over Thompson’s manipulative behavior, noting that he had used charm and flattery to gain the trust of his young victim, a 13-year-old girl.

The court heard that Thompson convinced her they shared a special bond, leading her to believe he was her first real boyfriend.

The court was told that Thompson took the girl to a waste ground near her home, where he committed the assault.

The judge described Thompson’s actions as deeply disturbing, highlighting the significant risk he poses to other young women in the future.

As a result, he ordered that Thompson’s license be extended by an additional seven years upon his release from custody.

Throughout the trial, Thompson’s behavior was described as volatile.

He displayed aggression and showed no remorse or insight into the gravity of his crimes.

Judge Webb remarked that Thompson’s conduct was driven by a high level of uncontrolled anger, which contributed to his offending.

Matthew Brook, the prosecutor, presented a victim impact statement from the schoolgirl, revealing the profound emotional scars left by the assault.

She described how the experience had severely affected her mental health, leading to depression and the need for medication.

The girl admitted to feeling constantly down, withdrawing from friends and family, and suffering a significant blow to her confidence.

Thompson, who resides on Fisher Street in Great Bridge, had denied six charges of rape involving his three victims, as well as inciting a schoolgirl to engage in sexual activity.

However, after a jury trial, he was convicted on all counts.

The judge also ordered that Thompson must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, underscoring the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
