MAN JAILED FOR REVERSING CAR OVER EX AND FRACTURING HER HIP
A violent man named Aston Amos, of Hope Lane, Clifton-on-Teme, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after deliberately reversing a car over his ex-girlfriend, Natasha Jones, fracturing her hip.
The incident occurred on March 1 at the Hare and Hounds pub in Kidderminster.
Prosecutor John Brotherton stated that Ms.
Jones had gone to the pub for a bottomless brunch with friends and saw Amos pull into the parking lot driving her car.
As she approached him, Amos reversed the car at speed, running her over and causing a fractured hip socket, cuts, and bruises.
Her injuries included a four-day hospital stay, and there is a high likelihood of future osteoarthritis.
CCTV footage captured the event, and Amos pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm without intent.
During sentencing, Judge James Burbidge KC noted that Amos and Ms.
Jones had already split up and emphasized the reckless and dangerous nature of Amos's act.
Amos was also banned from driving for 27 months.
Despite his expressed remorse and love for Ms.
Jones, the judge highlighted his misconduct as highly reckless and dangerous.
