ASHLEY WRIGHT FROM WIGSTON PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD SEX OFFENCES AT SECURE TRAINING CENTRE NEAR BUCKINGHAMSHIRE
In a distressing case heard at Kingston Crown Court, Ashley Wright, a 26-year-old care worker from Wigston, faced serious allegations of abusing her position of trust to exploit a 15-year-old boy.The incidents took place over a period spanning from May 2019 to January 2020, with the most troubling events occurring at a secure training centre located in Buckinghamshire.
During the court proceedings, Wright appeared via videolink from her residence in Wigston, Leicestershire.
As she sat in court, tears streamed down her face, reflecting the emotional weight of her admissions.
The court was informed that Wright had engaged in inappropriate conduct with the minor at various times and locations, including the training facility.
One of the most disturbing acts was her incitement of the boy to touch her breasts, which she admitted occurred on October 21, 2019.
Additionally, she touched the boy inappropriately on New Year’s Eve of 2019, further compounding the severity of her actions.
The court also heard that Wright had sent the victim sexually explicit texts on November 13, 2019.
However, she denied sending a handwritten love letter that contained sexually explicit content, and the prosecution chose not to pursue that particular charge, offering no evidence in relation to it.
Judge Georgina Kent, presiding over the case, decided to adjourn proceedings to allow for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
She issued a stern warning to Wright, indicating that she could face imprisonment when she is sentenced on June 22.
The charges Wright admitted included abusing her position of trust, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, participating in non-penetrative sexual acts with a minor, and engaging in sexual communication with a child.
It is noteworthy that a further charge of engaging in sexual communications with the boy was discontinued during the proceedings, although the case remains serious.
Wright’s appearance was marked by her attire—a striped shirt with an open collar and a dark blazer—as she confirmed her identity and date of birth to the court.
When asked if she admitted to the charges, she responded tearfully, “I do, yeah.” Wright was granted bail under strict conditions, including a prohibition on contacting her victim, restrictions on entering the M25 motorway unless attending court, and a ban on meeting children unless accompanied by another adult.
She is currently registered on the Sex Offenders Register, and authorities are seeking to impose a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to further restrict her activities.
The judge emphasized the gravity of the case, stating, “The ordering of the report is no indication as to outcome.
These are very serious offences, and the custody threshold has been crossed.” The court’s decision to grant bail reflects the ongoing legal process, but the case underscores the disturbing breach of trust and the serious nature of the offences committed by Ashley Wright in Wigston, near Buckinghamshire.
