WESTER ROSS MAN DOWNLOADED HORRIFIC CHILD SEX ABUSE VIDEO
A 49-year-old Wester Ross man downloaded a 19-second clip of a girl aged between five and eight being sexually penetrated by a man after asking two youngsters for indecent photographs of themselves.First offender Ashley Wiltshire of Gruinard, near Laide, previously appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to the two sexual offences which occurred between December 18, 2022 and June 12, 2023.
Sheriff Gary Aitken heard that Wiltshire also sent one of his victims two images of an erect penis.
Wiltshire, who was represented by solicitor David Patterson, also admitted that on January 10, 2024 he downloaded the obscene video and asked for the full version, rather than just the excerpt.
The lawyer explained his client could only put it down to being drunk, adding: "Nothing can excuse this.
He does express the desire that there should not be a repeat and he will comply with any orders of the court." Sheriff Aitken ordered Wiltshire to carry out 210 hours of community work and placed him under three years of social work supervision, during which he must participate in a rehabilitation programme for sex offenders.
Wiltshire was also placed on the Sex Offender's Register for five years and will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same period.
The sheriff told him: "It is difficult to put into words just how deeply society disapproves of children being abused.
It is beyond comprehension how anyone - whether drunk or otherwise - can get satisfaction from a six or seven year old being penetrated."
