HAMPSHIRE MAN ASHLEY VICKERS SENTENCED FOR STALKING AND ASSAULT
A 46-year-old man named Ashley Vickers, who does not have a fixed residence, was given a three-year prison sentence after being found guilty of stalking and harassment towards a woman for over six months in Whiteley, Hampshire.Throughout this period, Vickers engaged in persistent harassment, including issuing threats, making ongoing phone calls, and showing up at the victim’s workplace to intimidate her.
Notably, between December 2022 and July of the following year, in Hamble, he committed particularly serious acts of abuse such as placing a bag over her head and sharing sexual images of her without permission.
These actions caused the victim considerable fear and emotional suffering.
His conduct also involved threatening her relatives and issuing multiple threats directly.
The court also imposed a restraining order and ordered Vickers to pay a surcharge of £228.
Authorities acknowledged the victim's courage in reporting the incidents and reaffirmed their dedication to justice and combating domestic violence.
Detective Ryan White, of Eastleigh District Investigations, stressed the significance of supporting victims and emphasized the police’s efforts to hold offenders accountable, highlighting that cases like this are a clear part of ongoing efforts to fight domestic abuse.
