NOTTINGHAMSHIRE MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE SEXUAL ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRLS
A man who disguised his identity to entice young girls into sending him sexually explicit images has been sentenced to jail.Ashley Haverkamp, 32, and of Newlands Drive, Forest Town, used social media platforms to target five children living across different parts of the country.
Posing as a much younger individual, he initiated conversations with the girls before sending them sexually explicit images and videos of himself.
Between December 2020 and July 2022, he also persuaded them to send sexual material in return.
His criminal activities came to light when the mother of one victim observed his behavior and reported it to the police.
Authorities quickly identified him through his mobile phone number, and the case was transferred to Nottinghamshire Police.
Further investigation uncovered evidence from the other four victims, all of whom provided video testimony supporting the case.
Haverkamp pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including making indecent photographs of children, engaging in sexual communication with minors, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on October 17 and was sentenced to six years in prison.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for life and subject to a sexual harm prevention order that limits his online activities upon release.
Under this order, Haverkamp must declare all internet-enabled devices to police and allow regular inspection.
Police investigator Kerry Humphreys commented: “Haverkamp poses a clear risk to young girls.
He knew he was communicating with vulnerable children but still exploited them for sexual gratification.
His offenses are utterly unacceptable, and I am pleased he has been jailed.
The case involved multiple victims across the country, making it challenging to investigate, and I am thankful for the bravery of the girls involved.
This case should serve as a warning to others: if you commit such acts, you will be caught, put before court, and very likely imprisoned.”
