ARNIE KALKAUSKAS FROM LONDON SENTENCED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY IN BOURNEMOUTH
Arnoldas Kalkauskas, born on December 21, 1994, of Cleveland Road, South Woodford, East London, was convicted in 2025 of animal cruelty after an incident involving a cockapoo puppy in Bournemouth.Kalkauskas, who is of Lithuanian origin and has connections to Basildon and Havering, admitted to an animal welfare offence following an investigation and prosecution by the RSPCA. The victim in the case was a puppy named Pablo.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing Kalkauskas mistreating Pablo, as he walked near Lansdowne Road in Dorset on September 15, 2022. The RSPCA later tracked him to his address in London during their investigation.
A veterinary report stated, “In my opinion, the act of dragging and kicking Pablo would have caused him to suffer physiologically and psychologically. Kalkauskas failed to protect Pablo from pain and caused unnecessary suffering.”
RSPCA Inspector Miranda Albinson, who was involved in the investigation, said: “We’re always grateful to members of the public who kindly speak up for animals and report anything they witness which causes them concern. Animals feel pain, fear and distress, just as we do, and deserve to always be safe from harm.”
In court, it was noted that Kalkauskas had been drinking heavily in the six months following his father’s death, which was cited as mitigation. The court also heard that he no longer owns Pablo or any other pets.
He was sentenced to 120 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay a £150 fine, and received a ban from owning dogs for seven years, which will expire in March 2032.
