Finstock Rapist
In November 2014, Archie Collicutt, a young man from Wilcote Riding in Finstock, Oxfordshire, was handed a severe prison sentence of ten years after admitting to a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against multiple young girls. The court proceedings revealed that Collicutt had engaged in a pattern of predatory behavior targeting six girls aged between 12 and 17 years old during the year 2013. His crimes included rape, sexual assault, sexual activity with a minor, and attempted rape, all of which he confessed to during the trial at Oxford Crown Court.

Further details emerged that Collicutt, then 18 years old, had also admitted to raping a 12-year-old girl in 2012. The court heard that his actions were not only criminal but also accompanied by threats of violence. During the sentencing, Collicutt was found to have threatened to kill a 13-year-old girl and her family if she disclosed the assault, highlighting the dangerous and manipulative nature of his conduct.

Judge Gordon Risius, presiding over the case, described Collicutt as a “dangerous” individual whose long-term impact on the victims could not be predicted. The judge emphasized the trauma inflicted upon the victims, stating, “It is impossible to predict the long term consequences. They have enough to deal with being teenagers without having to fend off sexual predators like you.” The judge also criticized Collicutt’s lack of remorse, noting that he showed selfish determination to satisfy his sexual urges and failed to show empathy for his victims, even blaming them for the assaults.

In addition to the prison sentence, Collicutt was subjected to a sexual offences prevention order and was ordered to register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities. Detective Constable Ian Gibbard commented on the case, expressing relief that Collicutt had pleaded guilty, which spared the victims the ordeal of testifying in court. However, he underscored that this did not diminish the severity of his crimes, stating, “Collicutt deliberately took advantage of young girls, abusing them and threatening them in order to stop them telling anyone.”

Earlier in September 2014, Collicutt’s actions had already led to him being labeled a “dangerous paedophile” by the court after he admitted to multiple crimes against girls under the age of 13. During that hearing, he pleaded guilty to six charges, including rape, sexual assault, and attempted rape, committed between May and September of the previous year. Prosecutor Nigel Daly described Collicutt as a manipulative predator who exploited his access to a caravan where he lured his victims. Daly explained that despite being only 18, Collicutt was a dangerous individual who targeted young girls, befriending them and resorting to force if seduction failed. He further revealed that Collicutt used social media platforms like Facebook and text messaging to contact and manipulate his victims, with evidence of his crimes recorded through these channels.

Following his arrest, Collicutt was remanded in custody and is scheduled for sentencing at Oxford Crown Court on October 15, where the full extent of his criminal behavior will be formally addressed and his punishment finalized.
