ANTHONY TINSLEY CONINGSBY SHOPS AND SLEAFORD SCHOOL PERVERT CAUGHT IN LINCOLNSHIRE AND PETERBOROUGH

In a disturbing series of incidents spanning over two decades, Anthony Tinsley, a man from Coningsby, Lincolnshire, has been convicted of multiple offenses involving voyeuristic behavior aimed at women and young girls. His actions included following victims in public places, secretly filming them, and setting up elaborate devices to facilitate his sickening pursuits.

One of the most alarming episodes occurred on the morning of August 31, 2002, at the Asda supermarket located in Rivergate, Peterborough. Tinsley was observed targeting a woman shopping with her two children. Using a hidden video camera concealed within a bag, he followed her around the store, attempting to film up her skirt. His illicit activity was eventually detected by security personnel, leading to police intervention. The authorities confiscated his camera and released him on bail. Despite this setback, Tinsley did not cease his offending behavior.

Less than four weeks after the supermarket incident, Tinsley returned to his predatory ways. This time, he set up a complex system of mirrors outside a girls' school in Sleaford, Lincolnshire. From his parked car, he was able to photograph schoolgirls as they walked past, capturing images of their skirts. His activity was interrupted when a male teacher emerged to investigate the commotion, prompting Tinsley to drive away quickly.

Further offenses occurred on November 27, when Tinsley targeted a woman at the lipstick counter in Boots, located in Queensgate, Peterborough. He concealed a make-up bag in his shopping basket and used the mirror attached to it to spy up her skirt, continuing his pattern of voyeurism.

Throughout these incidents, Tinsley's history of offending was well-documented. He had previously been jailed in 1997 for three months for his filming activities and again in 2001 for six months for threatening behavior. His repeated offenses and failure to reform led to his latest conviction.

During his trial, Tinsley admitted to four counts of outraging public decency. He explained to police that he had suffered from a mental health condition known as paraphilia since he was 15 years old. He claimed that this disorder caused him difficulty in behaving normally around others and contributed to his sexual frustration.

Judge Nicholas Coleman sentenced Tinsley to 30 months in prison, emphasizing the severity of his conduct. The judge stated, "I think you were suffering from a condition where you derived sexual pleasure from visual images. This was persistent conduct and you caused considerable distress."

His defense attorney, Greg Perrins, argued that Tinsley was unable to control his impulses, asserting, "It is something he feels he has little control over." Perrins also highlighted the impact of Tinsley's behavior on his employment history, noting that he had not worked since 1992 and had been branded a pervert after each conviction, which further hindered his ability to lead a normal life. Despite efforts to curb his behavior, Perrins concluded that without proper treatment, Tinsley's actions were unlikely to change.
