FINED FOR HAMMER ATTACK ON WOMAN
In a case heard at Huddersfield magistrates, Anthony Johnson, 45, broke into Michelle Goldsmith’s flat in Newsome.He smashed glass in the back door with a hammer, entered the flat, and destroyed a DVD player and TV.
Johnson then pushed Ms Goldsmith away after she tried to grab the weapon, and broke her ankle with the hammer while attempting to smash the stereo system.
Johnson claimed Ms Goldsmith had damaged his TV the day before.
Ms Goldsmith reported suffering stress and limited contact with her two daughters due to her injuries.
Johnson pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm and trespass with intent to do damage.
The court fined him £375 and ordered him to attend a domestic violence programme as part of a two-year community order.
