CORNWALL GRANDAD JAILED FOR POSSESSING OVER 400 EXTREME PORN IMAGES AND FANTASIZING ABOUT CHILD ABUSE
A man from Cornwall, Anthony Gilchrist, aged 63, was found to possess over 400 extreme pornographic images involving sex with live animals such as dogs, a snake, and a goat, as revealed in court proceedings.
Gilchrist also expressed disturbing fantasies about abusing young children, with evidence showing he engaged in messaging a profile he believed belonged to a single mother with two children, which was actually an undercover police officer.
During these exchanges, he made explicit comments about harming the children and expressed his depraved wishes.
Gilchrist was tracked via his IP address to an address in Madron, leading to his arrest in September after a warrant was issued.
His seized laptop confirmed the possession of the images and the disturbing communications.
At Truro Crown Court, Gilchrist pleaded guilty to publishing an obscene article and possessing extreme pornographic images.
The court was informed that he blamed alcohol for his actions but has taken steps to control his drinking.
He was described as recognizing his wrongdoing and showing remorse, though he has limited recollection of the events.
The judge sentenced him to eight months in prison, suspended for two years, ordered him to complete 240 hours of unpaid work, and a destruction order was made for his devices.
