SWINDON KILLER GETS LIFE
KILLER Andrew Veal will serve at least 12 years for the brutal murder of his wife.Dawn Williams was murdered at home in Fosse Close in Rodbourne last November.
Today Veal pleaded guilty to her murder at Bristol Crown Court and a judge ordered him to serve a minimum of 12 years behind bars.
Detective Sergeant Nick Shorten, the officer in the case, said: "On a day such as this our thoughts are with Dawn Williams' family and friends.
Over the past seven months they have had to come to terms with Dawn's death and move on with their lives.
"Today Andrew Veal has been sentenced to life imprisonment, with a recommendation that he serve a minimum of 12 years, for the murder of his wife.
After stabbing his wife to death he later that evening went to a police station to admit to what he did.
There can never be any excuse for actions as horrendous as those carried out by Andrew Veal and his sentence today indicates just how serious those actions were."
