Crieff Sexual Abuser
A Perthshire man identified as Andrew Sommerville Brock has been fined £500 at Perth Sheriff Court after persistently following a 15-year-old girl and making inappropriate remarks towards her. Additionally, Brock's name has been added to the Sex Offenders’ Register. It was revealed that Brock had previously been placed on a three-year probation for an offence occurring on July 13, 2005, on Crieff High Street, which he continues to deny involved a sexual element. Despite efforts by the probation service to rehabilitate him, Sheriff Lindsay Foulis revoked his probation and instead imposed the fine, ordering him to undergo alcohol counseling. Brock was found guilty of breaching the peace by persistently approaching and pursuing the teenager, which caused her alarm. The court noted that Brock had kept out of trouble since his 2005 offence, and a solicitor stated he had tried to stay trouble-free. The judge remarked on the difficulty of imposing a custodial sentence given his compliance efforts but emphasized the seriousness of his actions and added his name to the sex offenders' register.
