ANDREW RAWLINGS BABY KILLER FROM CADBURY HEATH SENTENCED FOR SHAKING MASON TIPPER TO DEATH

In June 2010, a tragic and disturbing case unfolded involving the death of a four-month-old baby named Mason Tipper in the Bristol area, specifically linked to the suburb of Cadbury Heath. The individual responsible, Andrew Rawlings, was convicted of causing the infant’s death through violent physical abuse and was subsequently sentenced to a relatively lenient term of just four years in prison.

Andrew Rawlings, aged 26 at the time, was living with Mason’s mother, Samantha Green, in her maisonette in Cadbury Heath. Their relationship, which lasted approximately six weeks, became increasingly strained after Green discovered she was pregnant. Rawlings, reportedly unsettled by the pregnancy, pushed Green into having an abortion, believing that Mason’s biological father was her ex-partner, Daniel Tipper. This belief was later confirmed to be true through DNA testing, which revealed that Rawlings himself was Mason’s biological father.

In July of the previous year, both Rawlings and Samantha Green received an eviction notice from their Bristol residence. During this period, Green sought advice regarding her housing situation, leaving Mason temporarily in Rawlings’ care. Rawlings, who was unemployed and working as a security guard, reportedly became frustrated with Mason’s teething noises, which may have contributed to the tragic outcome.

On the morning of the incident, at approximately 9:45 am, Rawlings contacted emergency services, claiming there was a red mark on Mason’s cheek and that the baby had turned blue. Paramedics arrived at the scene but were unable to revive Mason. Despite their efforts, Mason was declared dead, and his life support was turned off three days later. The injuries sustained by Mason included severe brain trauma, a heart attack, and a broken arm, all indicative of violent shaking.

During the trial at Bristol Crown Court, Rawlings denied the charge of murder but admitted to manslaughter. The court proceedings revealed the severity of the injuries inflicted upon Mason and the circumstances surrounding his death. The case drew significant attention from the community and the media, highlighting issues of child abuse and domestic violence.

Following the conviction, Mason’s grandmother, Debra Tipper, aged 44, expressed her outrage and disappointment. She stated, “He killed that baby. He has shown no remorse or apology, he has just been impassive.” Her comments underscored the pain and anger felt by the family, who mourned the loss of Mason and sought justice for his tragic death.
