Creepy scout leader who had sex with girl in his Corsa is jailed for six years

CREEPY SCOUT LEADER WHO HAD SEX WITH GIRL IN HIS CORSA IS JAILED FOR SIX YEARS

A disabled scout leader who groomed a schoolgirl before engaging in sexual acts with her inside a scout hut and his vehicle has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Exploiting his trusted role as a scout leader, he deliberately created opportunities to exploit her, becoming increasingly possessive and controlling over time.

The court heard that he subjected the victim to a "horror" by forcing her to endure a trial.

Andrew Ranyard, aged 38 and residing on College Road in East Halton, previously lived in Grimsby, Immingham, and Cleethorpes.

He denied seven charges but was found guilty by a jury at Grimsby Crown Court of three counts: two of multiple indecent assaults and one of indecency with a child.

He was acquitted of three rape charges and one assault by penetration.

The abusive behavior spanned approximately six or seven months, occurring at least five times weekly.

After a go-karting outing, Ranyard allegedly took her to the scout hut where he had sex with her on the kitchen table.

Additional sexual acts reportedly happened at the New Holland scout hut.

His controlling behavior intensified, with frequent phone calls and texts.

He was subject to an indefinite restraining order and required to register as a sex offender for life.
