ANDREW PERKIN FROM ST ERTH SENTENCED FOR CRUELTY TO STRAY CAT IN CORNWALL

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of St Erth, Cornwall, Andrew Perkin, born on October 23, 1971, residing at 16 Boscarnek, was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a stray cat.

The incident took place in September 2012, when Perkin shot the defenseless animal at close range using an air rifle.

According to reports from the RSPCA, the stray cat endured significant pain after being shot.

The organization confirmed that the injuries inflicted by Perkin resulted in the cat suffering a prolonged and painful death, which occurred approximately one hour after the shooting.

The court proceedings concluded with Perkin being sentenced to a 24-week jail term, although this sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offense within that period.

Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £4,000 to cover the expenses incurred during the investigation and prosecution.
