ANDREW HAY FROM AYR REMANDED AFTER SEX OFFENDER INCIDENT INVOLVING TEENAGERS

A man named Andrew Hay, known to have previous convictions related to similar offenses, has been remanded in custody following his admission to engaging in indecent communications with minors. The 22-year-old, who appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court in handcuffs, pleaded guilty to multiple charges involving inappropriate online interactions with young girls and boys.

Hay was accused of causing a child to view a sexual image and of communicating indecently with a minor. He also admitted to sending sexual messages to a teenager who was in a state of undress, with the intent of sexual gratification or to humiliate, distress, or alarm the victim. These offenses took place between November 2023 and February 2024 at a property in Ayr.

Specifically, Hay pleaded guilty to causing a third teenager to view a sexual image after sending a photograph of his private parts between December 1 and December 31, 2023. The court was informed that he made a total of 60 calls to one complainant and 399 calls to another, often referring to one of the victims as his
