In April 2016, Andrew Bunting, a 43-year-old farmer from Kirkbean, was convicted of two counts of indecent behavior toward a girl under the age of 16. He has been placed on the sex offenders register for two years and ordered to participate in a specialized sexual offenders' programme.
The offences occurred between July 1995 and July 2000. Dumfries Sheriff Court was informed that Bunting repeatedly sat the girl on his knee, placed his hand beneath her clothing, and touched her chest during this period.
