KENT STALKER CAUGHT PESTERING WOMEN ONLINE USING 80 FALSE IDENTITIES
A man who persistently sent inappropriate images and made offensive suggestions online to two women has received a prison sentence. In 2013, Andrew Bloomfield targeted a woman he knew indirectly, and despite her objections to the distressing content, he continued to send similar material via social media using fictitious identities over several years.
Beginning in 2016, Bloomfield also focused on a second victim, engaging with her on social media by sending images and offensive messages through approximately 80 different false profiles.
Both women, who knew each other, realized they had been enduring the same harassment, as confirmed by Kent Police.
An investigation was launched after the women reported the incidents, leading to Bloomfield’s arrest at his home in August 2022.
Authorities seized his digital devices, uncovering evidence of his inappropriate conduct towards both victims and other women.
Bloomfield, who resides on Fawkham Road in West Kingsdown, admitted guilt at Maidstone Crown Court to two stalking charges.
On November 8, he was sentenced to a jail term of four years and two months.
He will also be subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, barring him from opening or using Facebook or Instagram accounts under any name other than his own.
Additionally, he must follow an indefinite restraining order.
PC Callum Fullerton, the investigating officer, commented: "This appalling man has caused misery for his two victims over several years.
His disgusting messages and images left the women in considerable distress and he should be thoroughly ashamed of his vile conduct.
"Bloomfield thought the internet gave him sufficient anonymity to target women in their own homes for his own perverse gratification, but his confidence was misplaced.
The victims courageously alerted the police and he has now been brought to justice."
